The British Council has recently seen an increase in online advertisements around East Asia offering to sell IELTS Test Report Forms to potential IELTS test takers.  These certificates are often advertised as ‘legit’, ‘original’, ‘genuine’, ‘verified’ or ‘IELTS certificate for sale without taking the IELTS test’.  The offers can appear on forums, social media, various websites, or being sent via email and WhatsApp.

Please be aware that these are fraudulent. We encourage anyone being approached to buy IELTS Test Report Forms to immediately report this activity to the police.

Anyone offering to sell IELTS Test Report Forms is committing a serious crime, and anyone attempting to purchase these items is wasting their money – and significantly risking their future opportunities with recognising organisations.

We would like to reiterate that the IELTS partners take test security very seriously. Our security procedures are constantly reviewed and updated, and every report of attempted malpractice is investigated. This includes working with relevant authorities around the world, including immigration and law enforcement agencies, to protect the security of the test.
