Covid-19 Updates and Health Advisory

On 30 January 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the novel coronavirus situation a global health emergency. 

At the British Council, the health and safety of all our staff, customers, and the communities in which we operate is our top priority. We support and cooperate with all local government agencies to put all necessary measures in place to ensure the continued well-being of all with whom we engage in the course of our activities.

We are monitoring the situation very closely and will continue to take relevant measures in line with the advice of local government agencies in the days ahead. Exams Services 

Computer-delivered IELTS, university, school and professional exams will resume in Seoul from 24 March. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on our exams services in other cities outside Seoul, once they are available.

IELTS

  • Paper-based IELTS, computer-delivered IELTS, IELTS for UKVI, IELTS Life Skills.
  • All tests takers affected by the suspension can apply for a full refund or defer their test to a future date in the next three months free of charge. Please visit the registration site (https://reg.britishcouncil.kr) to apply for refund/deferral.

Other Exams

  • Professional exams, UK University and School Entrance Exams.
  • We will inform your professional exam board or university and seek their advice on related arrangements. We will provide updates once they are available.

We are doing our best to keep all our stakeholders informed in a timely manner of the rapidly evolving situation. We are also encouraging everyone to follow basic hygiene practices such as frequent handwashing with soap and water, using hand sanitisers which are provided at our premises, wearing a mask if preferred and seeking medical attention if unwell.
