香港的大學以英語作為主要教學語言，因此通常須要申請學生遞交英語能力證明。所有香港的大學均認可IELTS的成績，而IELTS在全球則有1,000個考試地點。換言之，除非你申請的院校有額外要求，持有在任何一個IELTS考試地點考獲的成績，均可申請到香港升學。請向有關學院索取更多資料。

要取得簽證，除了填妥所需表格外，學生必須提交身份證明文件、學校成績或有關學術資格、及經濟情況的證明。非本地學生須有本地的擔保人，而擔保人可以由錄取學生的院校安排。你亦有可能需要呈交其他文件，包括香港居住的安排等等。一般情況下，有關部門需要六星期處理簽證申請，請及早提出申請。

獲批准簽證的同時，你將有機會獲發一封「不反對通知書」，詳列該學生的可申請工作類別。非本地學生應了解從事不同工作的各種限制，一般來說，從事實習工作、校園兼職工作或暑期工作都無須另行申請。

一般你會首先獲批准來港逗留12個月或根據你課程修業期獲批准留港，以較短者為準。請在原有簽證期屆滿前四星期内辦理延長簽證申請。
